MVC was created in the Fall of 2009 to provide a cost-conscious, competitive volleyball program for middle school and high school girls in the Morongo Basin area.

Mission Statement
To provide the equal opportunity for girls from diverse environments to train and compete in USA Volleyball's Junior volleyball program; to encourage teamwork, health, positive life skills and academic achievement; to establish a member club in the Morongo Basin area that is community-based and self-sustaining.

Philosophy
MVC believes in supporting the participation of girls in volleyball because:
  • Girls who participate in sports are 92% less likely to get  involved with drugs.
  • Girls who participate in sports are 80% less likely to have an unwanted pregnancy.
  • Girls who participate in sports are three times more likely to graduate from high school.
  • Girls who participate in sports have higher levels of self-esteem.

Volleyball is truly the "girl's game" of America and increases in popularity year of year.  Girls playing volleyball in the United States outnumber boys 12 to 1.

What is Junior Olympic Volleyball or Club Volleyball?

USA Junior OlympicVolleyball, or Club Volleyball, is nationwide program that offers athletes the opportunity to play volleyball beyond the normal school season. For thousands across the US, the end of the volleyball middle and high school seasons signifies the beginning of club, and the beginning of the best volleyball memories for these athletes each year. The simple fact is that Junior Olympic Volleyball programs have exploded all across the country.

Most girls who play club volleyball have several goals in mind. Some play to:

1) Try the sport out for the first time--recommended for ages as early as 7 and under.

2) Develop advanced skills in specific areas.

3) Increase playing time or their impact on their school teams.

4) Challenge school starters the following year.

5) Reach their highest potential and to gain exposure and chances of earning college scholarships.

Today you will find that literally all athletes who play in college participated in club, and you will also find that the best middle and high school teams tend to be those that have the most club participation. The truth is that successful school coaches encourage their athletes to play club volleyball for the experience, instruction, and additional training time.

Our coaching staff firmly believes that participation in club volleyball provides a wealth of opportunities and experiences. Aside from imparting ideals and habits related to competition, teamwork, and sportsmanship, we also seek to equip players with the skills that will allow them the greatest chances of success in the sport.  As we strive to win tournaments, we do so without ever losing sight of our mission to provide the best possible volleyball experience we can to each player in our club.

The short term benefits of participation include maximizing success at the middle and high school level. The long-term benefits include establishing routines and norms related to long-term health-related fitness as well as physically active lifestyles. In short, volleyball has impacted our lives in so many ways, that we want to share those experiences with others and mentor the next generation of volleyball greats!
